Jessica’s passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion stems from her own experience growing up as a low-income queer woman. She studied Ethnic Studies and Gender Women Studies at the University of California at Berkeley. After college, she joined Teach for America and taught Pre-School in San Francisco for a year, then Kindergarten in Oakland Unified School District for three years.
Jessica aimed to maximize her impact on student outcomes by leaving the classroom and transitioning into Educational Technology, where she worked as an Account Executive for five years. Her most recent role was Senior Account Executive at a consulting and technology start-up rooted in creating more equitable master schedules for secondary schools.
In her free time, you can find Jessica raising her eight-month old son and teaching group fitness at a local boutique studio!
